Fostering Self-Reliance Cinema XXI Provides Culinary Training for Yayasan Merah Putih Karya Mandiri

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to commemorate Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, Cinema XXI organized a Culinary Training session for the women and youth fostered by Yayasan Merah Putih Karya Mandiri.

A total of 10 participants joined the training, which was led by Cinema XXI’s F&B and L&D teams. Held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Rumah Belajar Merah Putih in Cilincing, North Jakarta, the session taught participants how to prepare popular menus such as iced cappuccino, Thai tea, and cireng isi (stuffed fried tapioca), while also providing essential insights on preparing culinary products for sale.

“At Cinema XXI, we aspire to support the nation's youth so they can dream big,” said Dody Suhartono, Director of Cinema XXI. Emphasizing the fundamentals of the culinary business, he added, “The keys to food and beverage are discipline, neatness, and cleanliness. When we sell a product and one person praises it, that reputation will spread to others, and so on.”

“The materials and recipes taught by Cinema XXI today are important and highly beneficial in helping us become more self-reliant,” said Desi Purwatuning, Chairperson of Yayasan Merah Putih Karya Mandiri.
In addition to providing training, Cinema XXI also donated cooking equipment and ingredients to Yayasan Merah Putih Karya Mandiri.

This initiative builds upon Cinema XXI’s previous program for the children of Rumah Belajar Merah Putih, which included training in team building, learning motivation, hygiene, literacy and numeracy, and English language education. These efforts reflect Cinema XXI’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, particularly within the social sector.
